Diet For FSGS

Diet plays a huge role in prevention of FSGS and relieving the illness condition in sufferers. But many patients still do not know what foods they can eat with FSGS. In that condition, what on earth can FSGS patients eat?

Here are some dietary tips for FSGS patients to eat.

1. Low-salt diet
As FSGS patients are likely to suffer hypertension and swelling, so they should restrain water and sodium intake. No eating salty food, drinking, pickles, such things like that. Limit sodium intake carefully.

2. Protein intake.
Protein is an essential substance for human body, in particular, FSGS patients. Damaged kidneys fail to bear heavy burden, so to avoid extra kidney burden. Besides, FSGS patients should absorb some high quality protein foods which can be found in lean meat, fish, egg white and milk.

3. Control potassium intake
Low-potassium diet helps FSGS patients to prevent heart problem. Therefore, controlling potassium intake will decrease the risk of dying of heart failure.

4. Eat low phosphorus foods
High levels of phosphorus restrains calcium intake, which can cause bone diseases. Therefore, if lab tests show FSGS patients have elevated phosphorus level, foods with low phosphorus will be suggested.

5. Make sure ingest enough vitamin
Because of serious diet limitation, many FSGS patients can not get enough vitamin from vegetables and fruits. In serious case, they can eat some vitamin supplements to make sure enough vitamin in their body.
